Is God first in your life? Then tell Him so. Don’t be like Cain who treated his first fruits offering as casual and just a ritual. What we offer to God sets the stage for everything.
Make it special and important that your children might do likewise. Let the blessings roll in and overtake you.
Luke 6:38 (KJV)
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Many people try to justify being stingy and not honoring God with their first fruits. Please be advised that this is a big mistake. When we honor the Lord with our first fruit offering we are consecrating all we have to the Lord. It sets the pathway and unlocks blessing. Those who do not honor the Lord with their first fruits are choosing by default to allow the enemy to steal even what has been gained.
Show me a person who gives and I’ll show you a person whose heart is in the right place. Show me a stingy person and I’ll show you a person who doesn’t mind having holes in their pockets. Can you be trusted with true riches? Not if you are unfaithful with little.
Luke 16:11 (KJV)
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
First Fruits Giving
Proverbs 3:9-12 (NASB)
9 Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD
Or loathe His reproof,
12 For whom the LORD loves He reproves, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (NASB)
6 Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
1 Timothy 6:18-19 (NASB)
18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.
It all comes down to a heart issue
Luke 12:34 (NASB)
34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
