It is somewhat concerning when some of our national leaders back away from supporting Israel’s right to protect themselves from Hezbollah. Israel desires to protect their nation from those who have vowed to destroy it, as should any sovereign nation. It is my opinion that the USA is hypocritical to expect that our allies should back us in the same style scenario when we vacillate in our support of Israel. Politicians will seldom hold a line the way those with conviction do. Double talk and equivocation are the politicians’ MO.
My prayer is that the Lord will establish statesmen in our nation who are driven by conviction rather than interests. Our nation needs those who will govern righteously and who are willing to see the present through the lens of a better future.
There are big differences between politicians and statesmen. One is driven by interests and the other is driven by conviction
A politician focuses on winning elections, securing power, and serving party interests, often making short-term compromises.
A statesman prioritizes the long-term good of the country and future generations, acting with integrity and honor even at the cost of personal popularity.
The contrast between these two roles highlights key differences in their primary goals, focus, and public perception.
