Please do not get caught up in the end times mania so prevalent in social media and with the doomsayers of our day. Jesus has a great plan for His bride however the nations do hang in the balance.
Psalms 2:10-12 (NIV)
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. 12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
I would like to break some things out eschatologically to help those under our care to understand that King Jesus is alive and well and that the earth is still the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.
Jesus won and He will continue to win as we the bride learn to step into our best days ever. His Kingdom is at hand in and through His saints and shall be fully manifested and realized at His second coming. In His Kingdom we have become joint heirs according to the promise.
His Kingdom Our Kingdom
Daniel 7:13-14 (NASB)
The Son of Man Presented
13 “I kept looking in the night visions,And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him.
14 “And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed.
Daniel 7:18 (NASB)
18 But the saints of the Highest One will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come.’
Luke 12:32 (NASB)
32 Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.
From my perspective, it is very important when we discuss the end times that we foster an understanding of how Jesus wins and that we continue moving toward the restoration of all things, including the redemption of planet earth.
Acts 3:19-21 (NASB)
19 Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, 21 whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.
Many people are looking for answers about the end times. Especially when wars and rumors of war abound.
Mark 13:7-8 (KJV)
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Amillennialism is a Victorious Eschatological View of the End Times.
My opinion is that Amillennialism is a pretty safe interpretational approach towards victorious eschatology from a Kingdom perspective.
Not to dismiss postmillennialism, historic dispensationalism, or partial preterism for each can be expressed in a victorious way if adhered to with the right mindset.
Partial preterism is an interpretation that also lends itself toward victorious eschatology. This view is seeing a strong following within Kingdom minded believers. Many partial preterists are also Amillennialists. In this specific article I would like to focus in on Amillennialism.
Amillennialism seems to be the approach that has been the most widely received interpretation throughout church history thus far. Some would argue but that is not my objective in writing and compiling this article.
Fringe/Radical Interpretations
I personally believe that dispensational premillennialism lends itself toward escapism and denies the power of God for a victorious end-time perspective. It lends itself toward an escapist approach to life where believers are simply hanging on until they can escape the planet. Dispensational thought includes the doctrine of secessionism, which teaches that the power of God is no longer available to the Saints to do the work of the ministry, and that grace for the greater works that Jesus spoke about ended when the Bible was canonized and died out with the apostles of Jesus. This is different from historic premillennialism which is is a more moderate view and is more about the timing of the return of Christ.
I believe that full-preterism which some refer to as hyper-preterism is another radical interpretation which believes that all Bible prophecy found in the book of Revelation has been fulfilled including the spiritual return of Christ at 70 A.D. Full preterism is often times coupled with replacement theology which says that the church has replaced Israel and that God no longer sees the nation or Israel as His holy people of covenant. This belief can create an indifference in attitude toward natural Israel and even antisemitism relegating the nation of Israel to the same status as any other nation. This approach makes God’s covenant with natural Israel as null and void and it places no special role with natural Israel in future world events.
Partial preterism is a modified view which does not adhere to the excesses of full preterism and is one that still believes in the literal return of Christ. Many partial preterists believe that all of Israel shall be saved irregardless of the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD making this modified view more appealing and cohesive with other interpretations.
Romans 11:26-27 (KJV)
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Historically, amillennialism has been the most prevalent view among Christians regarding the millennial reign of Christ, although it’s less popular in some modern American evangelical circles. While specific percentages are difficult to pinpoint for all of history, amillennialism was the dominant view for much of church history, from roughly 400 to 1800 AD, according to Bible Study Tools.
The AI Response from google search was not bad when I asked it to explain Amillennialism. Hopefully this will help some of you gain a grid for what is happening in the earth.
Amillennialism is a view within Christian eschatology
(the study of “last things”)
that interprets the biblical “thousand years” (or millennium) in Revelation 20 as a symbolic representation of the current church age, rather than a literal, future 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth. Amillennialists believe that Christ’s millennial reign is spiritual and already in progress, taking place in the hearts of believers and through the church’s influence.
Here’s a more detailed explanation:
Symbolic Interpretation:
Amillennialism rejects a literal interpretation of the “thousand years” in Revelation 20, viewing it as a symbolic number representing the entire period between Christ’s first and second comings.
Spiritual Reign:
Amillennialists believe that Christ is currently reigning in a spiritual sense, primarily through his church and in the hearts of believers.
Already/Not Yet:
They emphasize the “already/not yet” aspect of the kingdom of God, meaning that while the kingdom has been inaugurated through Christ’s resurrection, it has not yet been fully realized on earth.
No Future Literal Millennium:
Amillennialism does not anticipate a future literal 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth before the final judgment.
Two Ages:
They often operate within a two-age framework: the present age (the church age) and the age to come (the eternal state after Christ’s return).
Distinction from Other Views:
Amillennialism differs from premillennialism, which anticipates a future literal 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth, and from postmillennialism, which anticipates a golden age of Christian dominance before Christ returns.
