Beware of Selfish Ambition…

When ministers only concern themselves with their ministry, and those who are under their care, it could be a sign that they are being driven by something other than the kingdom of God and King Jesus.  

There is a big world out there and if we are going to to reach it, then we need to work together to see His kingdom come.  There is no synergy in one.  Synergy comes from more than one part aligning for greater purpose.   I am excited about the greater days that are ahead of us. This is a great time to be alive.  In Bible times entire regions knew how to work together for the advancement of the kingdom. Let’s do that…it is still plan A

The New Wine is found in the cluster. 

Solo grapes become raisins over time.  

Isaiah 65:8 (KJV)

8 Thus saith the LORD,

As the new wine is found in the cluster,

and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it…

Selfish ambition is no fruit of the spirit

Philippians 1:15-18 (NKJV)

15 Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: 16 The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

Philippians 2:2-4 (NKJV)

2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Two Kinds of Wisdom

James 3:13-16

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
