Visionaries and pioneers, please do not listen to the critics and the naysayers. Get your counsel and encouragement from faith filled ones who will dream with you looking through the eyes of faith.
A critical spirit does not look good on anyone. Critics are a dime a dozen and there is little place for a critical mindset in faith filled Christianity. Pioneers often take the brunt of negativity because of their nature of attempting that which has not been done or going where others have not gone before.
There is a big difference between walking in a critical spirit and being a critical thinker. Seeing the downside is a form of wisdom called prudence and we all could use an extra dose of that. However, when prudence is tainted and charged with fear, offense, accusation or covetousness then it is being empowered by the demonic realm.
As a people of faith we need to learn how to check our faithlessness at the door. Unbelief is not helpful in any way. Walking in negativity and an Eeyore mindset doesn’t help anyone.
We all must learn to look through the lenses of faith if we desire the greater works that Jesus was speaking of.
John 14:12-13 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Opinions can be helpful if they are constructive but many are driven from something other than faith. Be careful who you listen to.
Theorists always try to punish pioneers because they are jealous of their lack of fear and the zeal for conquest that will not be detered.
Never let a naysayer occupy your attention. Critics are going nowhere of note and the seeds they are sowing will find them preoccupied in dealing with their own critics in due time. Sow honor if you desire to reap the same. Jealously, envy and ambition are normally the root issue of the critical at heart. It is a spirit normally driven by offense and an inordinate need for self validation.
You cannot sow criticism without reaping the same. It seems a safe place for critics to whisper their negativity in secret under the guise of concern, but heaven is watching. Do not let negativity be your portion but instead posture yourself in humility. Stoking the dream in others is powerful seed to sow. Giving honor produces an environment of honor.
I have a firm belief that God is big enough to accomplish His will through the least likely candidates if they simply refuse to listen to the critics and press toward the mark of their high calling. Every saint of old whom we attribute hero status to had to learn how to keep the faithless opinions of others from deterring them from destiny. The key is to not lose heart just because others lack courage.
Pioneers, keep moving forward. Visionaries keep clearing the path. Do not listen to the critics. Their portion is sided with the accuser and not of faith.
God will perform His purpose in all those who do not shrink back and who refuse to turn around. Just ask Moses.
And by the way, God has your back even when the critics do not. Just ask an entire nation that died in the wilderness because of unbelief.
If anyone had the experience to dissagree with Moses after 40 years of sojourning in the wilderness under his leadership, it was the children of Israel. And yet God just called their expert opinion murmuring and left them to their desert. By His mercy their children were able to cross over and come into the land of promise.
We do not need critical mindedness in the body of Christ, we need men and women who will hear God and do what He says even when the majority is focussed upon the giants in the land.
Somebody has to have sight to see the giants through the lense of heaven. A critic will never see what a visionary sees. The visionary sees a land full of milk and honey ready to be occupied while most critics fail to see the God factor.
The kingdom suffers violence but the violent know how to take it anyway.
We must choose to think right if we desire the right results.
Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
What we choose to occupy our mind with will largely determine the outcome. If we cannot speak through the filter of faith then maybe our posture is better served in prayer so that our faith will arise.
2 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV)
12 …for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
Set your face firm and advance! Heaven is applauding your faith!
