It is so easy as leaders to allow the drives of the world to drive our lives instead of Holy Spirit. Motives show us if we are seeking the Kingdom 1st or if we are in it for self promotion alone.
Drives of the world have a way of raising their ugly heads because iniquity is tied to them.
1. Quest for love
2. Quest for power
3. Quest for money
4. Quest for adventure
As sons and daughters of the Kingdom, our drives should flow out of intimacy and communion with the Father. He should be the prompter of our life engagements. The Rhema He speaks to us should be the cornerstone of our daily life assignments. When His prophetic insight drives us then we have confidence. We know that His grace is able to fulfill His purpose.
When we are driven by anything outside of His word then we are living only by pattern rather than relationship. We will never outwit the enemy by operating according to a pattern, regardless of how noble or excelent the pattern is.
Kingdom structure is designed to facilitate revelation. The Rhema word of God must be central to the mechanisms we construct to advance His Kingdom.
If we are not careful we can become doers of many good things and yet workers of our own iniquity. Everything Kingdom should flow out of intimacy and revelation. If we simply settle for Kingdom models of ministry then we can potentially build edifices where the Spirit is invited to visit rather than abide.
We must be an authentic prophetic people who hear, obey and abide in His presence.
If our plans flow from His presence then we have started well.
If we build according to His wisdom then we build flexibly knowing He can shift us whichever way He desires.
This is the secret of our success and our ability to always stay ahead of the enemy of our destiny.
If iniquity is driving us then we know it by the fact that God did not initiate our action. Something underneath, something hidden. Something driving us other than Holy Spirit.
Iniquitous motives are those which originate in our fleshly drives. Kingdom motives are those which originate in the throne room. Kingdom business is manifested as we simply obey Holy Spirit. Iniquitous motives will require much more energy, stress and knavery to reach their end.
It is actually possible to do many awesome and even spiritually powerful things and still be driven by our own iniquity.
Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Help us as sons and daughters of your Kingdom to be grounded in intimacy and cetered by your Spirit. Let iniquity have no place in the pure of heart.
Matthew 5:8 (KJV)
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Cause us Lord to see and apprehend everything which you have purposed for us. We your people are listening and ready for the next installment of your Kingdom advancement in and through our lives.
