The building responsibility of the living stones we call the church is secured and advanced through apostolic and prophetic leadership.
Apostles and prophets have a key foundational building role to play in the body of Christ, especially when it comes to the establishment of regional expressions of church, ministries, local assemblies, businesses and even individual callings.
The right balance between these two graces will cause solid Kingdom foundations for advancement in Kingdom Culture.
Jesus must be the guiding plumb line and cornerstone of everything Kingdom in scope. The Holy Spirit reveals to apostles and prophets the things we need to know in order to be able to secure the development and advancement of everything Kingdom.
When God is doing a new thing He tends to work it into His Church by revealing it to his apostles and prophets.
Ephesians 3:1-6 (NIV)
God’s Marvelous Plan for the Gentiles
1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—
Jesus, the stone the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone of our future success. We are inheriting a Kingdom which cannot be shaken because He is the true architect of God’s plan.
Ephesians 2:19-22 (NIV)
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
When apostles and prophets build separately or in an independent way then the foundation suffers.
Apostles tend to build with the components they have.
Prophets tend to build with the now of what they hear.
Apostles tend to build out progressively and systematically.
Prophets tend to build in part building out a piece at a time.
When apostles build without prophets we tend to end up with a structure or a system rather than a spiritual awakening.
When prophets build independently we tend to move from experience to experience, touching on breakthrough but never able to capitalize on the momentum and gain progress.
When we gain breakthrough but fail to gain momentum which leads to harvest it causes the Body of Christ to become hope deferred. This always causes expectation, zeal and passion to suffer.
Apostolic and prophetic types must press into one another so that the Kingdom will see breakthrough leading to momentum resulting in a fruitful manifestation of Kingdom Culture.
