The Fear of the Lord

Have any of you noticed how so many these days are absent of the fear of God? It is as if they never were taught the reality of consequence when growing up.

The same people have no issue with rewriting the word of God by removing righteousness from the Bible and replacing it with love does not correct. As if the standard God has set for us was just His opinion, and never enforceable by a Daddy God who refuses to notice when His kids act up.

Here is my take on this entitlement driven tolerate everything spirit.

When children are not disciplined out of love in the home they never gain a fear of consequence leaving them believing that whatever they think is right must be right. Without a respect for the lawgiver people believe they can make up their own laws to replace the Word of God. Leaving them in a cycle of natural consequence for failing to recognize that God really is God.

Hebrews 12:7-13 (NIV)

7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline —then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. 12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
