Isaiah 27:1 (NASB)
1 In that day the LORD will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, With His fierce and great and mighty sword, Even Leviathan the twisted serpent; And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.
Dealing with the spiritual structures that work to twist and break communication is a key part of our warfare. The Leviathan structure is working overtime in these end times to thwart the purposes of God. One of his tactics is to twist communication so that the effect brings division and separation rather than unity and advancement. He accomplishes this by tying into the pride issues of men to bring them out of their posture of humility and into agreement with the accuser of the brethren. If all of the sudden people start misunderstanding your intentions and your communication seems to be falling short of the mark then you have likely been targeted by this structure. Leviathan has to have a host to make its impact and it does so by linking into the pride structures in man. Pride is the hook that is designed to bring a downfall.
Job 41:1-33 (NASB)
1 “Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook? Or press down his tongue with a cord?
2 “Can you put a rope in his nose
Or pierce his jaw with a hook?
3 “Will he make many supplications to you, Or will he speak to you soft words?
4 “Will he make a covenant with you?
Will you take him for a servant forever?…
33 “Nothing on earth is like him,
One made without fear.
34 “He looks on everything that is high;
He is king over all the sons of pride.”
Our best defensive weapon against Leviathan is repentance from pride and reposturing ourselves in humility.
Proverbs 4:23-27 (NLT)
23 Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.
24 Avoid all perverse talk;
stay away from corrupt speech.
25 Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
26 Mark out a straight path for your feet;
stay on the safe path.
27 Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil.
Our best offensive weapon is to love deeply, for love has the power to build bridges in communication and keep the enemy from feeding on our pride.
1 Peter 4:8 (NLT)
8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
Jesus said that we should pray that God will keep us from the temptation of the enemy and deliver us from evil.
Matthew 6:13 (NASB)
13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]
When Leviathan is on the prowl we should certainly up our prayer game and get the intercessors on the wall however removing the hook is key. Go to war with pride and Leviathan will lose his place.
Proverbs 8:13 (KJV)
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,
and the froward mouth, do I hate.
