Spiritual hesitatancy or refusing to respond to the word of the Lord accurately can bring serious consequences.
There is a huge changing of the old guard taking place in the decade we are now in which began two years ago.
It is becoming increasingly evident in this season that lamp-stands are beginning to be removed from structures which have refused revelation, reformation and the wind of Holy Spirit.
Revelation 2:5 (NASB)
5 Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.
The life of Saul is a clear pattern for the days ahead. Saul had his kingdom torn from his hands and given to another because he refused the word of the Lord given him by the Prophet Samuel. His kingdom was a pattern of the spiritual Kingdom we are now receiving as sons of God. His kingdom, which he was the steward of, was taken from him and given to one who had a heart to obey God and move by the Spirit.
Spiritual barrenness comes when we refuse to heed the signs we are given, when we refuse to respond to the word of the Lord.
When God says shift or take the next step then we must stay in the process or the process will leave us and be given to others who will walk it out.
When we chose to disobey, even with the best of human reasoning or excuses, then even what we have been given will be taken away from us and given to others who will obey the voice of the Lord and honor His ways.
When God releases revelation of His Kingdom to us, the revelation is like seed that we need to make sure produces the fruit He is expecting. This normally means we must engage the necessary reformative process or the shift needed in order to get to our next level of glory and fruitfulness.
Luke 8:14 (NIV)
14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
If we choose wrongly then we have left His desire and plan and our only choice is to repent from where we have fallen.
Luke 8:18 (NIV)
18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.”
