Matthew 13:52 (NIV) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
52 He said to them, \u201cTherefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a considerable challenge in attempting to define the new while living in the old. I believe many are trying to define that which is at a significant level of reform itself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One major reform that is taking place in the body of Christ is that we are moving from a local church centric structural approach in building to an apostolic team structural approach in building. We are moving from old wineskins to new wineskins, from church age to kingdom age. We are moving from primarily an organizational approach to ministry toward a more geographical and relational approach to ministry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As leaders, we define things according to the revelation we have. It is hard to define things that are still in process. It is like trying to nail down a moving target. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most are defining apostolic ministry by creating a hybrid structural approach as revelation is revealed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most leaders are trying to add new wineskin principles to their old wineskin. Rather than reforming what exists, they try to add the new to what presently exists. Many leaders will go through this process of reform before they truly see that the kingdom is not an ownership-driven model but just the opposite. It is a model of exuberant service with kingdom inheritance in mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I believe a hybrid approach is where most of the body of Christ is living. It is the next phase for many despite the futility of it. Believe me when I say this will not hit the mark. Many will try to place the mountain of the kingdom within their local churches only to find that a mountain does not fit within a house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Isaiah 2:2-4 (KJV) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains,and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
3 And many people shall go and say, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and their spears into pruninghooks: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I believe we need to gaze into that glass dimly and not just glance at it. Doing so will allow us to build a new thing, in a new way. We need all the old pieces powerfully aligned and motivated with a different purpose and intent. We must give our attention to transforming the planet and not escaping it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We need all of the fivefold grace of God manifesting in and through his saints as leaders work together synergistically to equip the saints fully until we reach the unity of the faith and become mature as His body on the earth. A city on a hill that cannot be hidden<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am convinced we will only get there if leaders are willing to lay their crowns down at the feet of Jesus. Much of what leaders gained in the church age has to be redefined and even let go of to embrace the fullness of the kingdom age. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We must ultimately build without the trappings of our structural traditions if we desire to see the true kingdom fruit of restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Acts 3:19-21 (NIV) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you\u2014even Jesus. 21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
